Rain for Rent - Charles P. Lake

Twenty-two scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each will be awarded to qualified students to help them pursue a career in agriculture, business or engineering. 

Applicants must have completed freshman year at an approved college/university and be currently enrolled for the next school year within the following criteria: 

  • The major emphasis of their education must be primarily agricultural, business or engineering in nature. They must have a major in an accredited College of Agriculture program, business, engineering or other designated program; 
  • Some preference will be made to those students who are specializing in irrigation technology, pumps and fluid dynamics; 
  • In the event that the applicants are equal in their academic achievements and extracurricular activities, the scholarship will be awarded on the basis of need; 
  • Transcripts must be attached to each application; 

Successful applicants must attend a Rain for Rent orientation meeting to receive their scholarship and provide a black-and-white photo for promotional purposes. 

Applications are available in the Dean's Office, the MAP Center, and BioResource and Ag Engineering Department as of March 1st. Applications must be returned to the office it was acquired from by the May 15th deadline.
