Slow Money Founder to Particpate in Fundraiser and Panel to Benefit Small Food and Farm Operations Oct. 6 and 7

The Center for Sustainability will co-sponsor a food and wine fundraiser featuring Slow Money founder Woody Tasch. The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Niner Wine Estates in Paso Robles. Proceeds will benefit Slow Money SLO, a nonprofit organization that provides business development support and facilitates peer-to-peer lending to small, local food and farm businesses in the county. Tasch is the author of “Inquiries into the Nature of Slow Money: Investing as if Food, Farms, and Fertility Mattered.” He launched Slow Money to help catalyze the flow of investment capital to small food enterprises and promote new principles of fiduciary responsibility that support sustainable agriculture. The preceding night, Tasch will be part of a panel discussion on “Growing Small Food and Farm Businesses,” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Grange Hall at 2880 Broad St. in San Luis Obispo. For more information, visit the Cal Poly News website.
